The darker patterns imitate many natural aquatic creatures from shrimp to caddis to water beetles. the lighter patterns imitate many common nymphs while the brighter patterns are designed to stimulate the agressive nature of the trout. There is a Snatcher for any of the conditions the trout angler may encounter.
The fly can be used as a normal wet fly or can be used as a vey effective bob fly when fishing "loch" style. The fly can also be greased up and fished as a dry fly.The brighter versions of the fly can be used as mini-lures.
The Monarch range of snatchers has been developed to cover a wide range of colours and has been extended to include standard and bead-head versions of the fly. There is an exellent article in the Aug 2006 Trout and Salmon magazine discussing fly colours and how to use them which is well worth a read.
The inclusion of the bead-head variants of the fly allows the angler greater control of the depth and allows for an upward "jerking" motion to be imparted to the fly to simulate and ascending nymph. This version of the fly is also very effective in fast flowing rivers where it has proved effective not only for trout but grayling and salmon as well.
So checkout the Monarch Snatcher range bellow, we are sure there is a fly for any conditions you might meet and for any style of fishing you need to adopt.
The biot on these flies has been deliberately tied long to allow the angler to trim them to the length they prefer. The palmering on the flies is also deliberately tied long to allow the angler to modify the fly to their preference for their own water
