David has specialised in fly fishing for pike for many years. His fly-rod has accounted for many pike of more than twenty pounds and a number of thirty pound plus fish. He has caught pike from many different countries - England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Holland, Denmark, The Swedish Baltic and the vast wilderness of Northern Manitoba. The pike haven't shown any prejudice towards his foreign flies!

David writes regular articles on fly fishing for pike for the magazine, Fly Fishing & Fly Tying. His new book on the subject will be published by Quiller in July this year.

David's flies are tied to represent the fish that the pike feed on. They have a substantial, three-dimensional profile to persuade the pike that they are worth eating. They are constructed to stand up to the pikes' impressive armoury of teeth and will withstand catching many fish. They aren't cheap but they work and they last.

They are tied on very strong barbless hooks for quick release of your pike.
This is for the protection of both the fish and the angler during the sometimes difficult unhooking process.
The flies are tied using the very latest man made fibres which shed the water when casting making the flies easier to cast.
